Meet your therapist

I’m Juliana Roman, MA, RP, founder of Life’s About Choice Psychotherapy and a psychotherapist registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. For the past 10 years, I have supported people through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, personal growth, and the transitions that can leave life feeling uncertain or out of your control.
My background brings together counselling psychology with advanced training in dance movement therapy, body awareness, and creative expression. I do not assume that movement or dance needs to be part of therapy. Instead, this training deepens how I understand the mind–body connection—particularly how trauma and stress can be held in the body and affect the nervous system. When helpful, we can use that awareness to build grounding, regulation, and a greater sense of safety in ways that feel comfortable for you.
I hold a Master’s in Counselling and Psychology, a Master of Arts in Dance Therapy and Rehabilitation, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. My work is warm, collaborative, client-centred, and gently challenging. We will take time to understand what brought you here, identify the patterns shaping your experience, and build an approach around your priorities—not ask you to fit into one method.

Your mind is not a problem to solve. It is a living story—capable of new pathways, new perspectives, and new choices.

An integrative approach
There is no single way to heal. I draw from evidence-informed, relational, creative, and body-aware modalities. This includes understanding how trauma and stress can affect the nervous system, while adapting every part of our work to your needs, comfort, and goals.
Hover over—or tap—any approach to learn how it may support you.
Helps you notice unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns, then practise more balanced and supportive responses.
Builds psychological flexibility by helping you make room for difficult feelings while moving toward what matters to you.
Identifies emotional and relationship cycles so you can create greater safety, responsiveness, and connection.
Explores the different ‘parts’ of you with curiosity, helping protective patterns soften and inner trust grow.
Helps couples understand how past experiences shape present conflict and practise more intentional, empathic communication.
Uses present-moment awareness to help you recognize unfinished emotions, needs, and patterns as they arise.
Uses awareness of the mind–body connection to understand how stress and trauma affect the nervous system, supporting safety, grounding, and regulation.
Informs my understanding of the body, stress, and trauma. Movement may be explored when it feels relevant and comfortable—it is never a requirement.
Uses creative expression to explore experiences, gain insight, and communicate beyond words—no artistic skill required.
Offers a warm, non-judgmental relationship where your experience, pace, and inner wisdom guide the work.
Highlights strengths, exceptions, and practical next steps to help you move toward meaningful change.
Recognizes the abilities and resources you already carry and helps you use them with greater intention.
Helps challenge rigid beliefs and develop more flexible ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

Common questions
Starting therapy can feel like a big decision. These answers are here to make the first step feel clearer.
I support adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, attachment and relationship patterns, emotional regulation, major life transitions, feeling stuck or overwhelmed, and rebuilding a sense of direction and control.
Virtual sessions are available to clients located anywhere in Ontario. In-person availability can be discussed during your consultation.
The 10-minute consultation is a relaxed opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the therapy process, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. It is not a psychotherapy session, assessment, or crisis service.
My approach is integrative, client-centred, and trauma-informed. I adapt our work to you rather than asking you to fit into one method.
Use the online booking options to choose a consultation or session. Payment is required before the 15-minute Reset and 30-minute Check-in are confirmed. The 60-minute services are invoiced after the session. You can also email l.a.c.psychotherapy@gmail.com if you would prefer to connect that way.
